Supplies:
50 grams or 92 yards of 100% wool
1-18" chain (silver or gold)
100 head pins (silver or gold)
3-in-1 jewelery pliers
scissors
bowl filled with warm water
1 business card
hand towel
Step 1: Make woolen beads
60 small = 6 times around a business card
30 medium = 9 times around a business card
18 large = 12 times around a business card
Using a business card, wrap yarn the number of times to get fiber lengths. Then cut.
Soak fibers in warm water for a few seconds, then rub fibers between palms rolling into a ball
Step 2: Attach headpins
Push head pins through each woolen bead.
With wire cutters, cut the headpin to a 1/2" above the bead.
Step 3: Attach bead to chain
Use needle-nose pliers to make a 90 degree bend in the wire at the top of the bead.
Then use the round-nose pliers to grasp the bend, shape the wire over the top jaw and swing it underneath to form a partial loop.
Then hook the loop through the chain and pinch the wire together.
Repeat this assembly for the entire necklace. Place beads randomly on the chain. Many links will have more than two beads on it.
